A few of our artisans are spreading warmth by knitting colourful mufflers and beanies to brave the cold weather conditions.

We are ex-students of Lady Irwin College, New Delhi who have come together to work towards a social cause. In 2005 we formed an informal alumni association with members based in Dehradun and started meeting for coffee mornings. All the members were highly qualified in their respective fields, exposed to a lot of social work and determined to help underprivileged people.
The coffee mornings for which we met, led us to mature into a full-fledged registered society called IRWINITE ALUMNI WELFARE SOCIETY, an NGO registered under Societies Registration Act Uttarakhand in 2007.
A few of our artisans are spreading warmth by knitting colourful mufflers and beanies to brave the cold weather conditions. They are also making baby sets which include sweater, cap and booties. These are good for gifting purposes also.
Since the art of crochet is on the verge of extinction . The Irwinite’s in Dehradun took an initiative of keeping it alive by training a few underprivileged women in this craft.
